Girl Power Launched in New York City
Join us in the fight to increase the attendance in college of young girls from low-income families. Girl Power is dedicated to guiding, mentoring, and motivating young girls to pursue their passion in arts through college.
Girl Power was co-founded by Cindy You and Sandra Cancinos. Their personal struggles without guidance during college and financial hardships inspired them to create a non-profit organization that is dedicated to assisting young girls with proper tools to excel during their high school transition into college. Some of the benefits our girls will be provided with are:
How to prepare for college.
- Finding, and assisting with scholarship applications.
- Guidelines on how find out what their passionate about and following it.
- Retreats to build friendships, self-esteems, and learn from each other.
- Field trips to multiple fashion, theater, and film sites to inspire the girls.
- Provide assistance until they feel secure enough to continue independently.
We are dedicated to empowering our girls to be the best they can be with the power of education.
